What is YOGA.....
YOGA in it's most simple form is a practice that improves the function of all the systems of the body.
Regular practise of YOGA postures called asanas will improve our:
Major organs such as our heart, lungs, liver and kidneys are exercised and stimulated.
Our bodies become stronger, fitter and more flexible. Our concentration increases and our mind is more balanced. When our physical bodies are healthier, our minds are healthier.
Is YOGA suitable for me ?
"My knees hurt"
"I'm not very flexible"
With literally hundreds of different YOGA asanas, there are always asanas open to you, regardless of age or experience.
YOGA is about working with what you have and working around the obstacles.
There are many different schools of YOGA teaching various asanas at varying levels of difficulty.
However, for most people as we grow older in life YOGA is used as a tool to increase and maintain health and mobility.
"What most people want is the same"
- "they want physical and mental health, understanding, wisdom, peace and freedom. Often our means of pursuing these basic human needs come apart at the seams, as we are pulled by the competing demands of life.
YOGA allows one to rediscover a sense of wholeness in your life - to find inner peace that is not ruffled by the endless struggle of life.
You find a new kind of freedom that you may not have known even existed."

Many people are absolute beginners unsure of what YOGA is and how it will improve their lives. My aim is to introduce the principles of YOGA to people and to develop their ability to enhance their health and well being.
